TERMING BJP leader LK Advani’s proposed Yatra as a betrayal with the country, Madhya Pradesh Muslim Vikas Parishad chairman Mohammad Mahir dared the former for debate anywhere in country. Mahir said the Parishad is ready for debate with Advani over the latter’s charge of appeasement of minorities.

Mahir said when the percentage of Muslims in the Army was asked how could it pose a security risk. He asked why the BJP remained silent at the time of Gujarat riots. “The Muslims of this country have the right to know why they have such a low representation despite the bravery of Havildar Abdul Hamid, Allah Rakha and innumerable others.”

He said when there are regiments named after Gorkha, Jagput, Sikh then why not Muslim?. The Parishad asked the BJP to desist from the propaganda of appeasement and stop misleading the country.
