A Myanmarese national, suspected to be a cadre of a militant outfit, was shot dead by Assam Rifles personnel at a place near Manipur-Myanmar border, official sources said on Monday.

Personnel of 24th Assam Rifles gunned down Yamkholun Guite (34) from whose person one pistol with two live rounds was recovered by the security personnel on Saturday last.
The body of Guite, who hailed from Khampat area in Myanmar, had been handed over to Moreh police station in Chandel district bordering Myanmar.
Meanwhile a report from the border town of Moreh said Assam Rifles personnel posted there had exploded four powerful bombs at different parts of the border town yesterday.
The motive for setting off the bombs by the security personnel was not immediately known, the report said.
