MYH class III, IV staff stages demo

THE CLASS III and IV employees of Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Hospital (MYH) staged a demonstration at the hospital under the banner of Madhya Pradesh Laghu Karmachari Sangh today and submitted a list of demands to Dean (Medical Services) Dr V K Saini. By evening, the hospital administration gave assurance of fulfilling two of the major demands by month-end.

THE CLASS III and IV employees of Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Hospital (MYH) staged a demonstration at the hospital under the banner of Madhya Pradesh Laghu Karmachari Sangh today and submitted a list of demands to Dean (Medical Services) Dr V K Saini. By evening, the hospital administration gave assurance of fulfilling two of the major demands by month-end.

According to Sangh district president Ravi Shankar Shukla, a 12-point memorandum of demands was handed over to the hospital administration for immediate action. The demands included holding advisory committee meeting, payment of pension and other retirement benefits and providing medicine to employees during their treatment at the hospital.

Other demands included filling up vacancies of nurses and class-III and IV employees, providing security to officials, doctors and employees from outside elements, promoting employees and assigning work suitable to their post, providing duty room facility to sister and staff working in the labour room, creating a medical room for nurses and staff on the fifth floor of the hospital, a proper room for matron, appointing a full time superintendent for the mental hospital and regularising employees working from a long time on contingency posts to the other posts lying vacant in the hospital.

Sangh secretary Dayaram Somesh said that the demand of induction on 50 vacant posts of nurses and class-III and IV employees,
