A statement from NSCN (IM) information and publicity 'minister' Johnny Dilbung said "certain elements" were trying to "misguide and disunite the Nagas" and that NSCN (IM) general secretary Th. Muivah had "clarified" on BBC's Hard-Talk and during several Naga Consultative Meetings that any decision regarding the Indo-Naga problem would be taken only after consulting all Nagas.

The Nagas were on the threshold of deciding their future and hence there was no room for accommodating mistakes or allowing anyone to hijack the peace process, the statement said.
