Nagaland governor takes charge of Assam

Nagaland Governor K Shankaranarayanan took additional charge of Assam Friday afternoon. His temporary additional appointment follows the death of Shiv Charan Mathur in a New Delhi hospital Thursday evening.

Nagaland Governor K Shankaranarayanan took additional charge of Assam Friday afternoon. His temporary additional appointment follows the death of Shiv Charan Mathur in a New Delhi hospital Thursday evening.

Shankaranarayanan, notably, is the second Northeast Governor with an additional responsibility. His Manipur counterpart Gurbachan Jagat is standing in for Arunachal Pradesh Governor JJ Singh, who's on an official assignment to Singapore.
