Together with Shane Watson, Hauritz represents the next generation of Australian cricketers.

He has long been one of Australia's most accomplished junior players, who has represented his country in all major junior championships.

The selectors are confident he could develop into a mainstay of the senior side in years to come and the trip to the sub-continent could well be the platform to exhibit his talents.

A spinner who relies on accuracy to frustrate batsmen, Hauritz made his Queensland debut in 2000, and a year later made his ODI debut for his country.

His emergence is provoking genuine excitement across Australia and it looks like this youngster is here to stay.
