"It is too premature to discuss the resolution. It will be done in due course of time," senior NC leader and finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather told reporters after the meeting. To a question, he said the resolution was discussed at the meeting.

The state Assembly, which is meeting in Srinagar beginning Monday for a nine day session, will debate the resolution submitted by independent MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Wednesday.

Rather said the Legislature Party would meet again for taking a decision on whether to support or oppose the resolution.

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and chief minister Omar Abdullah did not take part in the meeting as they were out of the state.

"There were some pressing official engagements. They will be back and we will meet again. There is nothing unusual," Rather said. Opposition PDP has already announced it will support the resolution seeking clemency for Guru.
