NCR Material Management Dept felicitates achievers
MATERIAL MANAGEMENT department of North Central Railway celebrated the Railway week and awarded the outstanding individual and group performance during year 2005-06, at a function held in Controller of Stores office, Sangam Place, Allahabad, recently.
MATERIAL MANAGEMENT department of North Central Railway celebrated the Railway week and awarded the outstanding individual and group performance during year 2005-06, at a function held in Controller of Stores office, Sangam Place, Allahabad, recently.
On this occasion, 90 staff members of stores department have been awarded by Controller of Stores, Mahesh Chandra, Chief Materials managers VP Pathak and Radhey Shyam.
Speaking on this occasion, Mahesh Chandra termed the year 2005-06 as eventful for the stores department of NC Railway since many milestones have been achieved this year.
“North Central Railway has earned money worth Rs 103.04 crore and surpassed the Railway Board target of Rs 92.00 cr of scrap sale. This has resulted in higher revenue earning for the railway and has been appreciated by Railway Board also,” he said.
Purchase of all items stocked in NC Railway depots have been taken up.
Transparency in procurement and widening of vendor base has been ensured by putting all the advertised tenders on websites and issue of bulletin tenders.
He said the Railway Board had also sanctioned the setting up of general stores depot at Kanpur and the work for this depot was in progress.
Schedule of power on stores matter has also been issued which would be helpful for the staff in day to day working. Chandra further mentioned that these achievements were made possible by integrated efforts of all officers and staff of the department. Jhansi depot has taken initiative in starting distribution of material to end users by road transport. He further asked everyone to keep up the good work in the coming years also.
VP Pathak, chief materials manager said that depot module of materials management information system had been successfully implemented in the main depot Jhansi of this railway which is one of the pioneer efforts.
Speaking on this occasion chief material manager Radhey Shyam emphasised the need to keep all materials available, specially the safety and passengers amenity items, and appealed everybody to work in this direction.
From the Materials Management Department, one officer has already been awarded by Railway Board, while three officers and three other staff members were awarded by general manager.
In the beginning of this programme Rajeev Saxena, Dy Chief Manager (HQ) welcomed everybody. JK Agarwal, DK Srivastava, Manoj Kumar Gupta, Sanjay Verma and M Das were also present on this occasion.
