NCR water supply channel for Gurgaon complete

The National Capital Region water supply channel for augmenting drinking water supply to Gurgaon has been completed and test run on the channel has been conducted successfully.

Other industrial townships like Manesar, Bahadurgarh, Sampla and Badli will also get benefit from the water channel, an official spokesman said on Sunday. He also said that to provide irrigation and drinking water facilities to Mewat district, Haryana Irrigation department has planned to construct a canal 'Mewat Feeder' at cost of R640 crore. He said the state government would refer the project of Mewat Feeder Canal to NCR Planning Board for funding. Besides, there is a plan to create a water body in the shape of Kotla lake in Mewat district at a cost of R116 crore, he said.
