Neeraj kidnappers were novice, foolish
'Neeraj Agrawal, the kidnapped contractor, was murdered because the gang involved in the crime had no experience in abduction. Except for one Raje the rest of the lot had no criminal history. They were also immature and foolish.'
'Neeraj Agrawal, the kidnapped contractor, was murdered because the gang involved in the crime had no experience in abduction. Except for one Raje the rest of the lot had no criminal history. They were also immature and foolish.'

This statement by a senior cop comes close on the heels of the failure of the men in uniform to establish the real cause behind the murder of Neeraj Agrawal.
Ever since the sad news of murder of Neeraj came to light, the only question which had been dogging the mind of the family members of the deceased and the police is that why after all Neeraj's tormentors had to kill him even when they were asking for ransom. The fact that this newly formed gang had no place to hold Neeraj captive is evident from the manner in which they travelled constantly on foot for two days ie November 11 and 12, said a police officer.
Neeraj's autopsy report has revealed that he was shot twice in the stomach and once in the hand. Besides there were marks of severe torture on his body. His wrist had been fractured. There was fracture in two of his fingers and the soles had been burnt. This shows that he had been inhumanely tortured by the gang to a point from where he could have made no attempt to escape. If the motive was to murder they could have easily shot Neeraj dead instead of kidnapping him, feels the officer. If not here they could have killed and dumped his body while travelling towards the jungle, he avers.
Besides, Neeraj's uncle Mahesh Agrawal who has started looking after the road construction work now still feels Vineet Agrawal's hand in the entire episode. According to him, Anil Srivastava who had served the family as a driver was in touch with Vineet . He said Vineet had a criminal bent of mind. Sometime ago he had barged into a bungalow in Civil Lines and had threatened some persons to vacate the building at the point of a revolver. He had also fired some rounds from the weapon.
He said that Vineet had a penchant to grab all the contracts in the name of his firm and this desire had probably driven Vineet to ask Anil (the driver) 'ise thikane lagao'. But both the police and the family members of Neeraj become tightlipped when pointed out that no money had been paid by Vineet to any criminal for this crime. Even the arrested miscreants have accepted this fact.
