The premier design studies institute set up the panel following an email from a student, Saurabh Kumar, who graduated from the institute last year.

In his email to the institute, he alleged that a teacher had conducted experiments with nudity, asking students to undress before each other to enhance their creativity.

Kumar alleged that students belonging to the 2007-09 batch were subjected to this experiment by a senior faculty member.

The student also claimed that he and his classmates were made to sign a non-disclosure agreement, drafted entirely by the faculty member.

The institute has not revealed the name of the accused faculty member.

NID registrar Vijaya Deshmukh, when contacted, said that an inquiry committee has been set up to look into the matter.

The committee will submit a report to the NID director in July, the registrar said.
