FEARS OF the August 13 rain havoc were revived on Wednesday night a heavy downpour lashed the city around 10 pm. It rained in torrents for more than one-and-half hour before relenting a bit and giving respite to the citizens. It was raining in drizzles till late in the night.

The weather of late had been tricky: hot till afternoon with people sweating it out under a blazing sun, and then thundershowers and rains keeping people indoors in the evening.
But in a departure from this routine, it was a pleasant day all along before the rains struck late in the evening, sending people into a tizzy as they were recovering from bouts of heavy rains in August which had flooded Bhopal.
Streets were flooded in minutes and open drains spilled on to the streets. Met officials said it was local cloud formation receiving moisture-feed from low-pressure area on south Chhattisgarh. Such isolated heavy showers were expected in Bhopal division, they added.
