Happy over Nitish Kumar's victory in the Bihar elections, his family on Tuesday expressed confidence that he would be able to change things in the state through his determination.

At his ancestral home, 50 kms from Patna, Kumar's mother Parmeshwari Devi fondly recalled his childhood days, saying he was a very bright child who was interested in games.

"He was also very mischievous. He would throw things into the well," she said, signalling towards the well in the courtyard of the house.

"Now, he is not mischievous," she added and looked forward to staying with him at the Chief Minister's residence.

"Of course, I will go and live with him at the Chief Minister's residence if he becomes Chief Minister. Even now, I keep going to Delhi to be with him," she said.

The JD(U) leader's elder brother Satish Kumar said he was confident that Kumar would be able to make a difference in Bihar.

"I am sure that through determination he can change things in Bihar," he said.
