'No water crisis in city, yet'

Except for some areas, residents of most colonies situated at the end of the water distribution lines like Kalkaji, Kailash Colony said that they received water for half an hour to forty-five minutes on Thursday. There was no shortage in water supply in East Delhi colonies either.
The reason for this, said officials, was that there was no shortfall of water output at the Bhagirathi water treatment plant which sources eighty per cent of its raw water from the Upper Ganga Canal.
Some localities in Vasant Kunj and Chittaranjan Park, however, received less water on Thursday. President of welfare association of Chittaranjan Park residents, Jyotirindra Chakraborty said that some blocks in the area received water for only five minutes on Thursday evening.
Residents of some blocks in Greater Kailash I also complained that they did not receive the usual supply of water in the evening. Ritesh Nanda, a resident of Sector B, Pocket 1, Vasant Kunj said that there was no DJB water supply on Thursday.
Officials said that they are arranging for extra water from Haryana to make good the shortage of by drawing more from the Wazirabad barrage. They maintained that there was no water crisis in the city, yet.
Meanwhile, at the water emergencies where DJB tankers are filled, are no longer recording complaints of individuals who are going in person to ask for tankers. Consumers of South Delhi and Central Delhi areas of Lajpat Nagar have been asked to route their complaints to the centralised complaint number (9604480480).
The aim of centralising complaints is to ensure that there is no jumping of queue.
