Mystic River

Tim Robbins has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor for playing the role of emotionally fragile Dave Boyle: a man whose adult life has been haunted by the sexual abuse he suffered as a child. Tim is considered one of the most versatile actor, writer and director in Hollywood. In 1992 Robbins received critical acclaim for the portrayal of amoral studio chief in Robert Altman's The Player.

His remarkable performance won him the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. Unfortunately over the last couple of years Tim has disappeared from the film firmament. But Mystic River marks the beginning of another innings for the actor.
