Informed sources said each year at least 50 students from all the faculties were selected for the scholarships given by the institute. Each student is given Rs 3,000 every year during the four-year duration of his respective course.

Though all the selected students are now in their fourth year they have not been paid their scholarship amount for any year till date. According to them firstly they were informed that after certain deductions they would be paid around Rs 2,600 each year. The details about the deductions were not given to the students.

The accounts department has already taken the signature of all the recipients of the scholarship on the payment register but failed to make any payment to them till date.

In case a student dares to ask the dealing assistant about the payment of the scholarship he is rebuked and is not told about the date for the payment of the scholarship amount.

Several students said that though the institute’s director Dr RP Singh had given strict orders for payment of the scholarship the accounts department seemed to be taking its own time in doing the job.
