Now, you can park vehicles on Huda’s vacant plots for free. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has provided this facility on its vacant plots in Sector 29. Two plots (of seven to eight acres facing restaurants Pind Baluchi and Bikanerwala) in Sector 29 have been identified and made available for parking.

Huda administrator Praveen Kumar has issued instructions to these two restaurants to maintain these two parking lots and manage it as well.

“We have asked them to provide safety and security to visitors’ vehicles, issue parking slips but not accept fee at all,” said the administrator.

City residents have welcomed the move. “The decision is, of course, very good. It will also help control parking mafia in the city,” said RK Chaudhary, a resident of Ardee City.

“The step will invite visitors to come in large numbers and enjoy food at the restaurants. Besides, people can also visit the Leisure Valley Park, which is close by,” said Samir Tripathy, a resident of South City-I.

The Huda administrator said, “We have also plan to beautify the parking lots. We have appointed consultants to suggest and prepare designs. We would go for underground parking in future as well.”

Parking mafia in the city is a big threat as they are running unauthorised lots from Huda’s vacant plots.

During his recent visit to Sector 29, Kumar had assured residents to take action against unauthorised parking lots being run by the mafia in the city.

Green belts along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and MG Road have been taken over by the parking mafia. The city police claim the problem is being addressed by them.
