The Dubai Court of First Instance has passed a judgment in favour of Bharat Kumar Shah that the resolution by Indian Association Dubai (IAD) for his dismissal was illegal.

Shah was expelled on March 6 last year for protesting IAD's alleged move to collect membership renewal fee by not providing any receipt. The businessman had also objected that the IAD during the past 25 years never opened membership to every one.

He had served a legal notice to six members of the managing committee of IAD demanding that he be reinstated as a managing committee member without any late fee payment and an apology be tendered to him for wrongful termination.

He filed a case against the association on January 2006.

Welcoming the judgement, Shah, said, "I am very happy about the court verdict. This is a success of justice. Actually this verdict is a warning for the other Indian institutions who indulge in non-democratic activities."
