An Indo-Canadian was among four aid workers kidnapped in Iraq in the latest incident of abduction of foreign nationals in the trouble-torn country.

Harpreet Singh Sooden, 32, was kidnapped Nov 26 along with an American, a Briton and another Canadian. All of them are members of the Toronto and Chicago based anti-war group Christian Peacemaker Teams.

An electrical engineer from Canada, Sooden is pursuing a Masters degree in English literature in Auckland University in New Zealand to prepare for a teaching career.

Sooden, the youngest among the four kidnapped, was described as peaceful and fun loving by his family.

"He works tirelessly in his spare time to educate and help others," said his family.
