Jail superintendent Dr Viresh Raj Sharma told HT that Nupur had her dinner in the jail soon after she arrived around 6.10pm. "She ate jail-cooked dal, rice, chapatti and potatoes. Most women inmates were astonished to see her. Nupur spoke to a couple of inmates before reading 'Hanuman Chalisa' she had brought with her. She also watched news," Sharma said.
Nupur is lodged in the barrack along with 137 other women inmates. The facility has no proper beds. Women inmates prepare their beds on the floor.
Officials said that Nupur may not go to court on Tuesday. "Only when the court orders her to be present will she be sent for the hearing," Sharma added.
In May 2008, Nupur's husband Rajesh Talwar too had been lodged in Dasna jail.
