Officials find judging error but Hamm's win stands

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) confirmed on Saturday that a judging error went against South Korea's Yang Tae Young in the men's all-around final but also ruled that American Paul Hamm's victory will stand.

South Korean officials protested to the FIG that Yang's final horizontal bar routine should have received a start value of 10, the maximum possible, instead of the 9.9 the Korean was given in Wednesday's last rotation.
Yang received a 9.475 score that dropped him from from first place. Hamm followed with a stunning 9.837 to move past Yang, who finished third, and Korean Kim Dae Eun, who took the silver medal.
