Md Muqtada Khan, who has been re-elected from the Karwan seat in Hyderabad, now hopes for a five-year uninterrupted innings.
Mohammed Muqtada Khan is a relieved man.
For the man, who held the distinction of attending the previous Andhra Pradesh assembly for only one day, has been re-elected from the Karwan assembly constituency in this city.
Khan was first elected to the assembly in a by-election held on Sep 26, 2003.
He took oath as a legislator on Sep 30, the last day the assembly was in session before it was suddenly dissolved Nov 14.
Though he didn't say it in as many words, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator now hopes for a five-year uninterrupted innings as jubilant supporters made preparations for an elaborate revelry to mark his victory.
Khan defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Baddam Balreddy, his unsuccessful rival in the by-poll too.
