One held for British teen’s murder in Goa
The Goa police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of the 15-year-old British girl Scarlett Keeling. The police have detained two others and are on the look out for four more who are on the run. One of the three is Julio Lobo, the boyfriend of the murdered teenager. All of them were last seen with her three hours before her body was found on Anjuna beach at 6.30 am on February 18.
“We have arrested one person in connection with the murder and are on the look out for more. I cannot divulge more information as it may hamper investigation, but the investigation is certainly underway,” said Inspector General, Goa, Kishan Kumar.
Twenty-five-year-old Julio Lobo, shack owner of Luis Bay on Anjuna beach and another suspect known as Shanoo were detained earlier in the day.
Police registered a case of murder only on Saturday. This was after the second autopsy, which included a panel of three doctors and went on for six hours. The autopsy recorded 23 cuts and bruises inflicted before she was killed — including severe bruising on her thighs. The family say she was raped before she was murdered.
