A 13-year-old boy was crushed under a wall that collapsed while he was passing by a building in Ranip area while his friend was injured in the incident, they said.

In another incident in Raipur area, two persons including a woman were injured when the wall of a building collapsed on them.

All the injured are out of danger, the officials said.

Both the walls that collapsed were part of dilapidated buildings and their foundation had been weakened by the rain.

Mumbai received its first showers of the season since this morning and several incidents of trees falling were also reported, officials said.

Though the downpour brought much respite to people following a sweltering summer, it caused water logging in several areas and hampered traffic.
