JUNE 2006 emerged as a ?fruitful? month for the personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Allahabad Division. As Many as 2,366 persons were apprehended by the RPF personnel in the month of June alone in Allahabad Division for travelling without proper passes or tickets and for travelling to places beyond authorised distances as specified in their tickets.

As Many as 2,366 persons were apprehended by the RPF personnel in the month of June alone in Allahabad Division for travelling without proper passes or tickets and for travelling to places beyond authorised distances as specified in their tickets.
Not only this, the RPF also took into custody 194 persons who entered the reserved compartments while it caught 147 persons travelling in carriages reserved for females during the same period. As many as 327 persons were also held for creating nuisance in train compartments.
Satisfied with the RPF performance, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner RPF, Sunil Kumar Singh informed that his men also nabbed seven persons for forcibly opening or breaking a level crossing gate during the month.
Besides, they have also held 66 persons who were found travelling on roof or engine of a train and thereby endangering their life.
As many as 370 persons found smoking on platforms and trains were nabbed and fined by the RPF personnel, he added.
He said that in June as many as 263 persons were also apprehended for unlawful hawking and begging. "These are besides 1007 persons who were apprehended under Section 147 for trespassing on railway property.
He informed that under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, the RPF personnel recovered railway property worth Rs 35,440 stolen during June.
