ALLAHABAD DEVELOPMENT Authority has planned to carry out a drive from June 15 against illegal occupants of its colonies situated in various parts of the city.

This step has been taken by ADA Vice Chairman, Rajaram Upadhaya after considering all factors. It may be mentioned that a good number of ADA flats have been illegally occupied mainly in Shanitpuram Yojna at Phaphamau, Trivenipuram at Jhusi, Mehdauri and Kalandipuram schemes. These occupants have been living in the flats for more than a decade causing heavy revenue loss to ADA. What is most surprising is that why ADA has not action against the guilty so far despite being aware about it.
Sources said that the ADA staff is very fearful of the occupants as most of them have criminal antecedents. On several occasions in past, the ADA squads went to evict illegal occupants but they had to return empty handed in view of serious threats issued by these elements. He disclosed a list of illegal occupants has been prepared and 'operation eviction' would be started from June 15 . After getting vacated these flats would be sold out to strengthen the ADA's coffers.
Apart from this the buildings where parking has not been provided would be dealt with severely by ADA, said the vice chairman. Meanwhile ADA Vice Chairman has taken strong note of the indiscipline prevailing at ADA. He clearly pointed out that salary of employees who were found absent during office time would be cut by him. He gave instructions to the staff not to show any laxity while hearing public complaints. Public complaints will be heard daily between 10 am and 12 noon, said the vice chairman. Several persons have been facing problems in view of non-redressal of their problems. Now their complaints would be attended on priority basis.
