Pak navy aircraft crashes into Karachi oil refinery

A small aircraft crashed into an oil refinery in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi today, triggering a fire though there were no immediate reports of casualties.

A small aircraft crashed into an oil refinery in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi Tuesday, triggering a fire though there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The aircraft crashed into the refinery in Korangi area of Karachi.

The aircraft was seen flying at a low altitude before it crashed, witnesses said.

Police officials were quoted by TV news channels as saying that the aircraft was a pilotless drone that was being operated by remote control.

Geo News channel reported it was not known who was controlling the aircraft while Express News channel said the drone belonged to the Pakistan Navy.

Police and security forces cordoned off the area, and prevented people and the media from approached the refinery.
