Pandey steers Agra to 8-wicket win

BRILLIANT BOWLING by Vishal Pandey of Agra Division today steered the team to win in the All India Mayank Chaturvedi Memorial Cricket Tournament being organised at Old Campion Ground. Agra defeated IPC by eight wickets. Vishal was declared ‘HT Man of the Match’.

The defeat of IPC XI dashed the hopes of local team’s participation in the tournament. After winning the toss, IPC opted to bat first. Setting a target of 227 runs, the visitors posed problems for the opponents. Team lost nine wickets in setting the target.

Jatin Saxena and Mohisn Hasan scored 60 and 50 runs respectively. Jatin scored nine boundaries in completing his half-century.

Vishal with five wickets haul was the highest wicket taker for Agra team. Chasing the target, half centuries by Prem and Manoj saw Agra team to register a convincing victory of eight wickets. They scored 71 and 68 respectively. VNS Chairman Sanjay Pandey awarded ‘HT Man of the Match’ trophy to Vishal.
