Paris tops summer gay poll

She beat new Superman Brandon Routh and actress Meryl Streep to be the gay icon.

Socialite Paris Hilton has topped a new gay poll as the 'Hottest Reason To be Hot' this summer by the gay magazine Out.

According to contactmusic.com, the magazine chose Hilton as the year's most exciting gay icon beating out competition from the new Superman Brandon Routh and Meryl Streep who plays a fashion boss in the new movie The Devil Wears Prada.

Other celebrities making the list include Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and actress Sandra Oh. She was named the 'Hottest Gay Icon in The Making'.
