According to centre superintendents, the commencement of examination was delayed as they received inadequate question papers for History and Hindi Literature examinations from the varsity.

They said they had to send college staff to the university to collect question papers.

However, while the superintendents told the HT that additional time was given to examinees for completing question papers, examinees alleged that no extra time was given to them for the delay and they were unable to answer properly.

The superintendents said whenever they were facing situations like shortage of question papers, they found none at the university control room and they had to send their staff to the university and get additional question papers. “Due to shortage of staff and absence of vehicles, it becomes difficult for us to arrange question papers on time,” they said.

According to subject teachers, History had three groups titled A, B and C. Varsity authorities failed to assess the exact numbers of examinees in each group and sent inadequate number of question papers. The shortage could be noticed only when the question papers were distributed and many examinees did not get question papers of the group they had offered.

Since, the examination centres, created for private candidates, do not maintain any record of candidates and exam papers, the mistake could only be rectified at the time of distribution of question papers.

But, the university, which maintained complete record of private candidates and centre allotted to them could avoid this kind of confusion, the teachers said.
The examinees opting Hindi subject had also faced similar problem and were seen upset at the time of examination.
