Photographic tribute to Big B

The book is a compilation of Amitabh Bachchan's life, profession and above all, his personality.

Razor's edge or the red carpet, scorn or praise, in or out of the limelight, through thick and thin, he followed 'Bollywood ka Badshah' like a shadow while his camera chronicled the star's life. Finally photographer Pradeep Chandra has a tribute to his iconic hero Amitabh Bachchan.

AB The Legend - A Photographer's Tribute by Chandra, is out in bookstalls across the country. Written and photographed by Pradeep Chandra, the book is a compilation of Amitabh Bachchan's life, profession and above all, a glance of the tall man's character.

Following his passion, Chandra met people who knew Bachchan before the world did, and included their memories of him in the book, which makes it something more than an another book in the line on this living legend.

"Though I never wanted to write this but contribute only the photographs, I decided to write, because otherwise, the objective of this book, I felt, would not be fulfilled. The aim was to create a book, that would 50 years from now, provide people with enough material about the star of the millennium - Amitabh Bachchan," he said.

"As a photographer, I was lucky to meet Bachchan many times and I have met many other popular figures also. I thought I knew what differentiated him from others and I felt myself had to write this book." Pradeep Chandra told PTI.
