PIL against Hogenakal filed in HC

A PIL petition has been filed in the Karnataka HC seeking a direction to TN not to implement the controversial water project.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition was filed in the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday seeking a direction to Tamil Nadu not to implement the Hogenakal drinking water project until completion of the joint survey ordered by the Centre.

The petitioners Govindaraj and three others, who are members of the Chamarajnagar City Muncipal Council, in their petition, which is yet to be admitted, contended that the joint survey had not been completed.

"It would cause injustice to Karnataka if Tamil Nadu went ahead with the project at this stage," the petitioners said.
