Elaborate arrangements have been made for the occasion, temple employee Vidyanandji Maharaj said.

"The temple is an important centre of pilgrimage for Shiva devotees," the Maharaj said. "The Shivling can be viewed only during low tide."The place is mentioned in 'Skandmahapuran.' Legend says after killing Tarakasur, Skandkumar had built a Shivlinga at the temple site.
