The petition is likely to come up for hearing on Friday.

The plea alleged there was contradiction in the versions of the police, two eyewitnesses and medical superintendent at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where constable Tomar was admitted after he collapsed during the protest on December 23.

Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said at a press conference that he was told that Tomar, who died two days later, received injuries on the stomach, neck and chest and the same was the reason for his death. Police claimed the post-mortem report also confirmed this.

However, the hospital medical superintendent said there were no serious injuries caused to the constable, said the petitioner, who did not wish to be named.
