The two leaders shook hands and posed for photographs before entering Hyderabad House, the Foreign Ministry's venue for leadership talks.
The talks were expected to focus on attempts to seal a landmark nuclear deal that would give India access to critical Western technology, as well as bilateral economic ties, officials said.
