PM greets people on Buddha Purnima

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today greeted the nation on the occasion of Buddha Purnima Thursday, recalling the Lord's message of non-violence, love and compassion.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday greeted the nation on the occasion of Buddha Purnima Thursday, recalling the Lord's message of non-violence, love and compassion.

In a message, he said that Lord Buddha stood for "non-violence, love, compassion and brotherhood.

"Let us follow Lord Buddha's message and eschew all forms of violence and work for the welfare of the downtrodden and underprivileged," he said.
