This system has been started to facilitate visitors and tourists buy entry tickets of ASI monuments conveniently, Secretary in the Ministry of Culture Jawahar Sircar said on the occasion.

He said the project had been in the offing since long and the tourism ministry also had been pressing for it.

"For us it is a giant leap and if it takes off (formally these tickets would be sold from tomorrow onwards), then our next step would be e-ticketing," Sircar added.
