In the second phase, the inter state interlinking of the police offices will be completed and the audio mobiles of police officials will be changed as video mobiles. The much-hyped project has been started to equip the police force with latest technology in view of increasing incidents of terrorism and Naxalites movement.

According to sources, the latest technology in the police force has been initiated under the compact programme designed by the Union Home Ministry and all the police offices have been directed to implement the project.

The state government has started working on this project and the 13 zones of police department including Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Meerut will be on line. Besides, radio zones, training zones and all the three east, west and north zones of PAC will be on line and the process has been started.

Sources claimed that the home minister had directed the police officials to strengthen their network and all the state police chiefs’ offices would be online next year. Through the video conferencing of the zone, they will be able to convene crime meetings of the police officials at a short notice.

He further said all the top police officials would be able to monitor any big crime committed in any part of the state.
