Police finds body of Joginder Mander in river

The body of Joginder Mander, who was missing since October 7, was found in a river near the Barnston Island ferry terminal. Mander, who was an active member of the B.C. NDP party, was last seen by his daughters leaving their Surrey home near 93 Ave and 164 St around 2:30 am.

The body of Joginder Mander, who was missing since October 7, was found in a river near the Barnston Island ferry terminal.

According to information, Surrey RCMP were called to the location on Wednesday after a report that a body had been found in the Fraser River.

With aid from the B.C. Coroners Service, the body was identified as that of 64-year-old Joginder Mander.

Mander, who was an active member of the B.C. NDP party, was last seen by his daughters leaving their Surrey home near 93 Ave and 164 St around 2:30 am on October 7. He had left his wallet and cellphone behind.

He was wearing a black hoodie, a white t-shirt and dark track pants when he was last seen.

Police has ruled out any foul play.
