The BJP on Tuesday sought to distance itself from the Rahul Mahajan episode saying it was for the police to investigate the matter.

"The police will inquire into the matter. I have no comment to make," BJP president Rajnath Singh told a news conference in Bhubaneswar.
Rahul was not a BJP member but had expressed the desire to get involved in party work, Singh said in reply to a query but declined comment on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's reported remark on the alleged drug abuse being 'a mistake.'
The BJP chief also evaded a reply when asked whether the party was closing its doors on late leader Pramod Mahajan's son, and merely replied, "I am not able to hear you."
On the BJD-BJP government in Orissa, he said it was doing well.
Asked whether he had discussed with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik the reshuffle of BJP members in the ministry, he said, "we have discussed it a little."
