Pre-monsoon showers lashed many parts of Punjab and Haryana on Monday, plummetting mercury by several degrees.

Chandigarh was lashed by heavy showers this morning and it continued to pour for hours and pools of water collected around city's roundabouts.
The Met Office said that the city had received 13.6 mm of rain since morning.
Ambala was lashed by 10.5 mm of rains while another Haryana town Kalka received heavy rains at 44 mm.
Ludhiana and Patiala received rains at 6.5 mm and 2.6 mm, respectively. Jalandhar also received some showers while Amritsar had a partially cloudy sky.
Shimla also reported rains at 4.8 mm today, the Met office said, adding the the change in weather was due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over north-west Rajasthan.
