?Prepare proposals for dams? modernisation?

WATER RESOURCES Department Principal Secretary Arvind Joshi today directed officers concerned to prepare technical proposals for modernisation of dams under the MP Water Sector Restructuring Project within time limit and to ensure quality of proposals.

WATER RESOURCES Department Principal Secretary Arvind Joshi today directed officers concerned to prepare technical proposals for modernisation of dams under the MP Water Sector Restructuring Project within time limit and to ensure quality of proposals.

The PS was reviewing the project at a meeting held today. Under the project, some 654 old dams in 30 districts of the State would be modernised at the cost of Rs 1,919 crore.

Joshi urged the officials to work in a co-ordinated manner to implement the project in a proper way. He emphasised that the Water Sector Restructuring Project is a time-bound programme and thus works should be completed in schedule time.

Project Director V K Bhatia gave details of the progress of the project till date and said that in the first year, the modernisation of 98 dams have been taken up while during second year 137 dams would be taken up for modernisation.
