Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid obeisance at the Golden temple in Amritsar on Friday morning.

The Prime Minister was received by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar at the Harmander Sahib (Golden temple) and was presented a robe of honour.

Singh arrived in Amritsar on Thursday night to flag off the historic bus service between Amritsar and Nankana Sahib in Pakistan.

He was accompanied by his wife Gursharan Kaur, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and other members of the state cabinet.

Later, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife visited 'Durgiana Mandir' in the city.
