FEARING STUDENT violence over the non-issuance of exam forms by the university, BND Degree College principal AK Tewari has written a letter to the district magistrate requesting him to take necessary steps.
He sent a copy of the letter to the vice-chancellor and registrar of the university.
Talking to HT, Tewari said he had received a message that the university had cleared the forms of the B Sc II, III, Law and M Sc students.
However, the cases of seven students who were admitted to M Sc through the management quota and 1125 forms for B Sc and BA I were not cleared.
The college did not receive any forms, the principal said. He expected to get half of the forms tomorrow.
University registrar Mahesh Chandra said that all the examination forms, cleared by the university, would be sent to the college.
The BND college authorities are apprehensive that there might be violence if all examination forms were not cleared.
Meanwhile, BND Degree college students continued to boycott their classes in protest against non-issuance of examination forms. The last date for submitting the examination forms to the university is September 30.
However, the university has issued examination forms to almost all the degree colleges affiliated to it within the specified period barring the BND College. The University has also not given any specific reason for not issuing examination forms to the college.
Tiwari said he had personally met vice-chancellor of the university Dr SS Katiyar on September 13 and requested him to issue the admission forms to the college to avoid students’ unrest.
The V-C assured that the forms would be issued on September 15. But nothing happened, Tewari said.
He said following the directives of the V-C, the college officials were pursuing the university to issue the forms that did not land till today.
Tiwari further said it was surprising that the university did not even issue examination forms to students of M Sc and LLB who cleared the joint entrance examination conducted by the university.
After the counselling they were referred to the college for admission.
Senior teachers of the college apprehended that if the forms were not issued there might be violence.
Meanwhile, at SN Sen Degree Colleges the students staged a demonstration in front of the college demanding the examination forms. A delegation of the students met the college principal but no solution could be found. The principal urged them to take the examinations at private candidates.
The students turned down the offer. The principal told newsmen that she was helpless in the matter as the students were not ready to accept her proposal.
