Producer appears before Versova police
Filmmaker Gaurang Doshi was called in for questioning by the Versova police on Monday.
Filmmaker Gaurang Doshi was called in for questioning by the Versova police on Monday. Doshi had moved a session’s court for anticipatory bail on Saturday, pleading that he feared arrest in a criminal case of assault and intimidation filed against him by his live-in girlfriend and actor Flora Saini.

Prosecution sought time to file a reply in response to Doshi’s petition, following which Judge PV Bavsar adjourned the matter to February 27. Doshi’s petition said that Flora had filed a non-cognizable complaint alleging that he had assaulted and intimidated her.
Speaking to HT, Doshi said: “Flora had filed a case against her mother a few months ago. If she can file a case against her own mother, one can imagine what extent she can go to.”
“The film world knows about her past and her current position in the industry. I am starting a new big film, which she wanted to be a part of. That could be the reason behind her filing an assault case against me, he said. “Friendship and work are two different things. I cannot please all my friends when it comes to work,” added Doshi, who has made films such as Ankhen and Deewar.
The producer said: “I did not run away. I was very much in town. So, today I went to the Versova police station and gave them a letter with my version of the whole controversy.”
