Prof death: CID questions college principal
The CID has already arrested ABVP's former office bearers Shashiranjan Singh Akela and Vimal Tomar.
The Madhya Pradesh CID probing professor HS Sabharwal's death has questioned the principal and another professor of Madhav College about the cancellation of college union polls on August 26, which subsequently led to the alleged manhandling of the deceased professor, official sources said in Ujjain on Monday.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Raman, during his recent visit to the city in connection with the death of Professor Sabharwal, has questioned in detail college Principal LN Verma and Professor Jay Shrivastava about the cancellation of college union polls that led to the violent protests by NSUI and ABVP activists, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesman KK Mishra has demanded that CID probe the cellphone records of the persons present at the meeting that decided to cancel the poll in view of the reports that deliberations of the meeting were allegedly "aired" through a cellphone by one of the participants.
The enraged students after the cancellation of the polls had reportedly first thrown mud at Professor ML Nath and later manhandled Professor Sabharwal as he was leaving the college, following which he died on way to the hospital.
The CID has already arrested ABVP's former office bearers Shashiranjan Singh Akela and Vimal Tomar and has identified four others for their alleged involvement in the murder case.
Earlier in the day, Sabharwal's wife said that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has assured an impartial probe into the death of her husband.
