CBI on Monday told the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court that the material on record was "prima facie sufficient" for summoning and framing charges against six leaders, including former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

Concluding his arguments on the criminal revision petitions filed by the leaders challenging the summons against them, CBI counsel PK Chaubey said, "The September 2003 order passed by Rae Bareli Special Court needs no interference as the material on record was prima facie sufficient for summoning them for framing charges."

Justice YR Tripathi then posted the matter for January 25 to resume hearing.

The court said the criminal revision filed by Haji Mehboob against the acquittal of BJP President LK Advani would also be heard on that day.
