SS Channy, Secretary of Labour and Employment Department, said in Chandigarh on Monday that the ban would be a follow-up of the notification issued by the Central government on July 10 this year.

A time of three months had been given to prohibit employment of children below 14 years as domestic workers or servants in road-side eateries (dhabhas), restaurants, hotels, motels, tea shops, resorts, spas or other recreational centres, he added.

He said the action plan and directions have been sent to all the district offices and departments to ensure strict compliance of the orders of the government.
