Punjabi numbers, satire enthrall all

Punjabi Welfare and Cultural Society, Youth Wing presented 'Standard Chartered Baisakhi Bhangra Night', an evening filled with laughter and foot-tapping Punjabi numbers. The event was held at Punjabi Bhawan on Sunday evening. DIG Akhilesh Mehrotra inaugurated the event.

Chacha Raunaki Ram Bhangra Music group was specially invited from Jalandhar to entertain the audience. With his jokes and one liners, veteran stage artiste Chacha Raunaki tickled the funny bones of the audience. His compositions were based on the social evils prevalent in the society.

Another artiste Jaswant from the group was a surprise package as his mimicry items were most appreciated by the people. Teji Sandhu, the singer of 'Gori' album fame presented few of the foot-tapping numbers both in Hindi and Punjabi. Youngsters were unable to resist the temptation of dancing to the tunes of this young singer. Besides, there were also traditional dances presented by the artistes.

The entire event had been well planned to entertain the people from all age groups. Children enjoyed the fair that was simultaneously put up in the same campus. People enjoyed the mouth-watering delicacies put up at the stalls.

Various commercial ventures had put up stalls of their products on the occasion. Lucky draw was also held on the occasion.
