Rita Bahuguna, national president of the AICC women cell, told a press conference in Muzaffarnagar that she was opposed to caste-based reservation and instead suggested "reservation based on economic condition".

Bahuguna, who earlier addressed a 'Brahmin sammelan' at Shukartal near Muzaffarnagar, said "economic condition should be the sole criterion for reservation irrespective of caste".

She also said there should be "no discrimination among students based on caste" and stressed on the need to "change the education pattern in the country".
